Stronghold Woven Geotextiles
Price range: $200.00 through $5,869.99
Our industry-standard woven geotextiles are engineered fabrics designed to provide critical support across a wide range of projects perfect for landscape, construction, and agricultural professionals. Manufactured from high-strength polypropylene, these textiles deliver long-term performance in soil stabilization, separation, reinforcement, filtration, and erosion control applications.
Free freight on orders over $200. Longer rolls are not folded and will require a carpet pole for receiving. Customer must be present for LTL deliveries.
Description
Key Functions:Â
- Separation: prevents the mixing of subgrade soils with aggregate layers, ensuring load-bearing layers remain intact and effective over time. Essential for road construction, driveways, and parking lots.Â
- Reinforcement: enhances load distribution across a wider area, reducing rutting, settlement, and structural failure, and also enables support of higher loads with improved stability.
- Filtration: allows water to pass through the fabric while retaining fine soil particles. Maintains the integrity of the soil structure while promoting proper drainage and preventing clogging or soil migration.
Performance Advantages:
- Exceptional Durability: Woven fabrics are resistant to UV degradation, mildew, insects, and common soil chemicals. They are non-biodegradable and chemically stable across a wide pH range of 2 to 13, making them ideal for long-term installations in diverse environments. Woven geotextiles also feature impressive tensile strengths, increasing longevity in the toughest conditions.Â
- Soil and Water Management: Woven geotextiles effectively manage water movement and soil retention, making them suitable for drainage systems, erosion control, and landfill applications. Their ability to prevent soil loss while supporting fluid movement helps maintain landscape and structural integrity.
- Cost Efficiency: By reducing the need for frequent repairs and extending the lifespan of roads, foundations, and drainage systems, woven geotextiles contribute to significant cost savings over the life of a project.
Common Applications:
- Roadway and railway construction
- Driveway and parking lot stabilization
- Erosion control along slopes, embankments, and shorelines
- Retaining wall support
- Drainage and filtration systems
- Landscape and hardscape sub-base preparation
- Landfill cell construction and capping
Geotextile Installation:Â
Step 1: Prep the road surface – excavate the roadway to the desired elevation and fully compact your subgrade to remove all air and tighten the soil completelyÂ
Step 2: Unroll the geotextile fabric – once the fabric is free of folds and wrinkles, overlap the fabric over the desired surfaceÂ
Step 3: Sew the geotextile fabric – the fabric needs to be seamed with a dual thread lock stitch to prevent it from unthreading on the job site. Choose a prayer seam, j-seam, or butterfly seam, and it is recommended that you do two stitches on each seam to prevent any failure during installationÂ
Step 4: Apply aggregate to the specified thickness – ensure that no equipment drives directly on the engineered fill, and make sure the fill reaches full compaction before starting step 5Â
Step 5: Lay asphalt as needed
